Growing the Tower Garden Home with Grow Lights indoors is fun and easy! One big advantage of growing indoors is that you avoid the vast majority of the pests that plague outdoor gardens. For this reason, it is important to start your seeds indoors. You can start them in a tray with grow lights or—my favorite way—start them directly in the Tower Garden!
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, the easiest way for me to tell you how to direct seed an indoor Tower Garden is to show you!
ONE
First, I soaked rockwool cubes in plain water.
Then, I added seeds and popped the cubes into the Tower Garden.
I filled the Tower Garden with filtered water.
(I did not add nutrients or adjust the pH until the plants sprout!)
I pushed the grow lights in as close as possible to the rockwool.
I set the lights to run for 18 hours.
Squeeze those grow lights in close to the Tower Garden!
Seeds need lots of light when they are sprouting!
TWO
Five days later, the Mini Me cucumber seeds sprouted! Yay!
Here's how to grow cucumbers indoors.
THREE
By Day 10, everything had sprouted!
I added half-strength nutrients: 130 ml of Tower Tonic A and 130 ml of Tower Tonic B.
I let the Tower Garden run for 12-24 hours, then adjusted the pH as needed.
Once the cucumbers were several inches long, I added the Tower Garden Cage.
Move grow lights out as the plants grow to ensure all plants have access to light!

Finally, ta-da!
My indoor Tower Garden Home is two months old! I've harvested lots of lettuce, and the cucumbers and tomatoes are about to produce. (Here's how to grow tomatoes indoors!)
Keep an eye out for pests and harvest frequently!
Happy Planting!
