An Example of a Good Garden Submission

Updated: 5 days ago

Submitting garden supplies can feel a bit overwhelming.

I created a post here that explains WHAT Step Up for Students will cover.

In THIS post, I'll explain precisely HOW we submitted a Truly Tiny Banana to Step Up.

WE VISITED OUR FAVORITE NURSERY

On 8/29, my friend and I visited Dwayne at Growing Together Nursery, 215 N Sparkman Ave, Orange City, 407-702-3126, to pick up an adorable Truly Tiny Banana for her daughter's garden.

WE OBTAINED A PROPER RECEIPT

We asked Dwayne to provide both a paper receipt and an electronic receipt.

The receipt(s) should clearly show the following:

  • the name and address of the business

  • the date

  • the total

  • a description of the item

  • the payment method

I asked the nursery to provide a paper receipt to augment the details that the electronic receipt did not provide. We submitted both the paper receipt and the electronic receipt.

WE COMPLETED THE Educational Benefits Form "EBF"

Here's the EBF that we submitted. It includes:

  • A simple description: "My child is growing a banana plant in her garden".

  • A Curriculum for Older Students: STEMming Up Gardening

OTHER Curriculum choices could include:

Curriculum for Younger Students: Gardening for Grades

WE SUBMITTED THE RECEIPT AND EBF

Submit your receipt in the “old.”

Legacy System or the “new” EMA :

Instructional Materials

 ➡️ Elective Supplies

 ➡️ Garden Supplies

Upload the receipt & the EBF.

(NOTE: This submission took four weeks to be approved and paid.)

Finally, we returned to Growing Together Nursery 215 N Sparkman Ave, Orange City, 407-702-3126, for more fantastic fruit trees! Check out Dwayne's videos for more information!

Happy Gardening!
